Profile of Jane Berthiaume

Jane lives in Windsor, Ontario Canada with her two teenage sons and husband Tim. She also has two other fully grown children living in Western Canada.

While living in Eagle Pass Texas she took in a 17 year old exchange student from Argentina named Lucas Savino (Current President of ACCF). Lucas lived with Jane and her family for one year then went back to finish University in Argentina. When Lucas finished his schooling he came to Canada where Jane was now living to do his Masters in Political Science, and this is where the idea of the ACCF was born.

Lucas and Jane's plan was to partner the giving nature of Canadian's with the extreme need of the poor living in Argentina.

Jane visited the villages in Argentina in August 2003 along with Lucas. The purpose of their trip was to visit Lucas' family and meet with the doctors group. They travelled with the doctors to these remote villages to see where the ACCF could best focus their help.

The trip left a lasting impression on Jane as Canadians rarely see this type of extreme need and living conditions. Since then Jane has focused her efforts on fund-raising, administrative duties, hosting meetings, and designing the new website.
